Type Locality and Naming

The type section is lies at the mouth of two gullies (44°56′40″N, 90°14′E), Liukeshu and Tamugang, Kalamaili, Qitai, Xinjiang. It was named by the Comprehensive Research Party of Xinjiang Bureau of Geology in 1965, and formally cited in The Paleozoic Erathem of Xinjiang in 1991.


Lithology and Thickness

Siltstone. Dominated by thin-bedded silty mudstone, siltstone, sandstone and minor conglomerate. Thickness 69−220 m.

Contains a large amount of Angara flora elements, including Angaopteridium cardiopteroides, Noeggerathiopsis sp., Cardioneura sp., Angaridium, Ginkgophyllum, Neuropteris, etc.
